How to identify your iPad model

It is becoming hard to identify iPads model, too many releases as every year passes and many of them looking alike. I have gathered all the iPads Apple has released so far with its official name, release date, generation and model.

I have also added on the table screen and charging port. Screen showing if the digitiser and LCD is laminated or are they separate, and charging port showing if the charging port is soldered on the board or not, very useful information to know for technicians.

To find out your exact iPad model, look at the back of your iPad and find the model number starting with A and four digits. Then find that model number on the table.

Another way of finding any of your Apple device model is by serial search find your search number on the back of your device or setting and search it on EveryMac.
